He was preceded in death by his parents; Malcolm Chancey, Sr. and Lula Bell Chancey and a brother, Jerry Chancey.
Otis is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Nancy Chancey; son, Rick Chancey; daughter, Karen (Michael) Valencic; grandson, Jonathan Chancey; siblings, Malcolm (Gail) Chancey, Norman (Jean) Chancey, Donnie (Joyce) Chancey, Harold Chancey, Delores Knipp, Sylvia (David) Durr and Lonnie Chancey; and a host of other family members and friends to mourn his passing.
He was a former president and member of Local 20 International Union of Elevator Constructors and retired after 30 years of service. Otis was passionate about family, friends, his beloved pet Bella, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed gardening, had a knack for story telling and had a great sense of humor.
The family respectfully request in lieu of flowers that expressions of love be made to your favorite charity in Otis' name.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 16 from 2pm - 8pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 2pm also at the funeral home.
