Nina Faye Christie-Clayton was born on April 21, 1935 to the union of Eugene and Della Smith-Christie. Nina's childhood years were spent between Coburg and Columbia, KY. She received her primary and secondary education from the Adair County School System in Columbia, Kentucky. After graduating from Jackman High School, Nina moved to Lexington, Kentucky seeking gainful employment. Later she moved to Louisville, Kentucky. While in Louisville she reunited with and married Eugene Clayton. Nina enjoyed her home, family and friends. She loved working with seniors as a Home Care Provider. She also loved her job with the Jefferson County Public Schools as a Food Service Worker. Nina joined the Pleasant View Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Dr. J. Pyles.

Nina was proceeded in death by her husband Eugene Clayton, her parents Eugene and Della Smith-Christie, her three brothers, Ray, David, and Bobbie Christie, her five sisters, Maudra Anderson, Nonie Anderson, Henrietta Groves, Bernice Ewing, and Margaret Johnson.

Nina leaves to cherish her precious memories: her caregivers Mr. & Mrs. Robert Ewing, Jr. and Donna Gail Marshall, a brother-in-law, Orsin Clayton and sister-in-law, Arleen Thomas both of Indianapolis IN, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 11am-12pm with a celebration of Nina's life beginning at 12pm.

Entombment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, 4623 Preston Highway, Louisville, KY.
