Lana Theresa Harris, 53, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in New Albany where she loved to sing and pray to the Lord. Lana will always be remembered as a fashionable woman who enjoyed being around her family and telling stories for hours and hours.

She was born on June 27, 1964, in New Albany to Joseph Thomas, Jr., and Mary Kay (Harris) Byrd. She is preceded in death by her son, Gil Lamar Wilkins-Harris; and sister, Allison Harris.

Along with her parents, Lana is survived by her children, Antanisha Harris and Onterio “Shawn” Wilkins-Harris; siblings, Yolanda Warren, Steven Warren, Libby Rasool (Rasheed), Kimberly Harris (Cortez), Joseph Thomas, Kenya Lacy, Jermaine Bridges, and Dionna Whitehead; grandchildren, Airmen Jaylen Harris, USAF, and Amiah Spray; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Newcomer-Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, January 22, 2018, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville.

The family asks that floral arrangements be sent to the funeral home. Expressions of love for Lana may be sent to the Second Baptist Church (300 East Main Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150).
