1928 - 2018

Lucille Marie (Oglesby) Moore, 89, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Green Valley Care Center in New Albany. She was a graduate of Taylor High School and Tucker’s Barber & Beauty College where she was also an instructor for several years. Lucille was a member at the River of Life Baptist Church where she enjoyed being an usher for Sunday morning services. Lucille will always be remembered for her love of crocheting, quilting, canning, fishing, and faithfully attending church to praise the Lord.

She was born on January 28, 1928, in Watson, Indiana, to the late Quincy Oglesby and Dora Mae (Broadus) Collier. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Moore; daughter, Jo Ann Clayton; and siblings, Clara Mae Grant and James Albert Oglesby.

Lucille is survived by her two sons, Milton (Deborah) and Ronald “Ronnie” (Maria) Clayton; her daughter, Marva Miles; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Little Flock Baptist Church (3311 Holmans Lane, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130). Her Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the church with cremation to follow. Burial will take place at a later date at the New Albany National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lucille’s name may be sent to the Africa Mission First, c/o Harvest Ministries of Floyds Knobs (P.O. Box 576, Floyds Knobs, Indiana 47119).
