Gerald Lee “Moe” Oberhausen, 80, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Jerry was a member of the Elks Lodge #270 in New Albany, the American Legion Post 28, and the National Guard of the United States. He worked for many years at General Electric as a foreman until his retirement.

Jerry was born on July 16, 1937, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Victor and Violet (Glaze) Oberhausen. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Brent Oberhausen; and his niece, Beth Oberhausen.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Janice (Foushee) Oberhausen; children, Margie Constantine (Paul) and Vic Oberhausen; stepchildren, Charles Smallwood and Pamela Smith (Steve); brother, Donald Oberhausen (Pat); grandchildren, Nick Smallwood, Jana Ferguson (Nick), Alexis Smith, and Josh Oberhausen; and great-grandchildren, Jaylin Smallwood and Alex Ferguson.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Lodge of Sorrow Service will be conducted by the Elks Lodge 270 on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. His Funeral Ceremony will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

Memorial contributions in Jerry’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942).
