1949 - 2017

Michael Edward "Mike" Clontz, 68, of Louisville, KY passed away on November 17, 2017. He was a decorated Army Veteran of 17 years receiving the Silver Star, Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts and retired from Sullivan University after 25 years. He was the past Commander of VFW 1181 and past 6th District Commander of the VFW. Mike enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his friends. His family meant the world to him and he will be truly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Clontz and Sue Dowdle.

Mike is survived by his wife, Scherry Clontz, children, Sean Clontz, Jessica (Brian) Refo, Brandy Hibbs, Joe Hibbs and Dallas Cottrell and grandchildren, Tommy, Alyssa, Gaige, Peyton, Dylan, Eli, Kaylee, Caden and Denali.

Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 3pm-8pm with a VFW service beginning at 6pm. A celebration of Michael's life will be Tuesday, November 21, 2017 beginning at 11am at the chapel of the funeral home.

Graveside services will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central, 2501 Dixie Highway, Radcliff, KY at 12:30pm.
