1929 - 2017

Geraldine "Jeri" (King) Jewell, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on November 15, 2017.

Jeri was born on April 22, 1929, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Harry and Mary (Smith) King. She was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Lynn (Warren) Robertson, granddaughter Robin (Holsclaw) Davidson, grandson Nicholas Ledman Jewell, great-grandson Edward (Eddie) Bach III and sister Adelaid King.

She was a member of the Buechel Presbyterian Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Jeri loved listening to Elvis and Nat King Cole and watching classic movies. She worked as a hostess and waitress at the Brown Hotel (in the 50s), the all night shift at Jerry's (in the 70s) and ended her career at Flaherty's.

Jeri is survived by her husband of 46 years,Walter Ledman Jewell, Jr; children Scarlett Lee, Linda Kay Warren (Mike), Byron Glen Warren (Irma), Kevin Ray Warren (Sandra) and step-children W. Ledman "Leddy" Jewell III (Dianne), Lynne Jewell, Leslie Ray Jewell (Carrie), Lori Jones (Chris). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include Jack King (Debra), Howard Wayne King as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243).

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
