Catherine Elizabeth Mitchell, 95, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017.

She was born in Greenville, Kentucky on December 1, 1921 to the late Chester and Bessie Curd.

Besides her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her Husband, James W. Mitchell, Sr., Sibling, Jim Curd, Sibling, Chester Curd, Sibling, Billy Curd, Sibling, Vera Mitchell as well as a Daughter-In-Law, Susan Mitchell.

Catherine is survived by a devoted family including her four children, Carol E. (Harold T.) Thornton, Phyllis (Ken) Hartman, James "Jim" W. Mitchell, Jr. and Martha (Todd) Huddleston; five grandchildren, Deanna (Terry) McDaniel, Laura (James) Stouffer, Jessica (Andrew) Mitchell, Emily Huddleston and Alex Huddleston; five great-grandchildren, Blake Shelton, Madison Shelton, Ellie Shelton, Camden Stouffer and Clara Stouffer as well as a host of other extended family members and friends all of whom will cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm with a visitation for family and friends from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272. Burial will follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.
