Charles Leo "Pops" Braun
1939 - 2017

Charles “Pops” Braun, 78, passed away peacefully September 2, 2017 surrounded by Family at Baptist East Hospital, Palliative Care Unit. Charlie dedicated his life work to GE Appliance Park as a Manufacturing Engineer among other titles for 58 years before retiring in 2015. He was a graduate of Southern High School (Class of 1958) in Louisville, KY and received his BSC and MBA from the University of Louisville and was also a Professional Engineer. He was a member of the United States Air Force (Air National Guard) with rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed working on cars, playing golf, woodworking, being a member of the American Association of Woodturners Club in Louisville and watching his sons play baseball for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence Anthony and Margaret Wulf Braun; and 2 brothers, Lawrence and William.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda; daughter, Cassey Connelly (Dave); two sons, Joel (Christelle) and Cary (Susan); 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild; sister, Dorothy Wilson; 3 Nieces and 2 Nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a tremendous thank you to Baptist East Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

A Memorial Mass of Celebration will be held at 10am on Friday, September 22, 2017 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40222. Inurnment will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9am until 10am.
