Stanley Wood, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on June 28, 2017.
He retired from Jacobs Engineering Group; he was an avid golfer and had a passion for playing pool. Stan was a loyal supporter of the Lyndon Elks Lodge 2052 and was a member of the American Legion Zachary Taylor Post 180. He faithfully served his home country for 22 years and retired as a Sergeant Major from the British Army’s 3rd Royal Tank Regiment.
Stan was born on June 9, 1947 in Scunthorpe Lincolnshire, England to the late Cyril and Nellie (Moulds) Wood.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Debbie (Urda) Wood; daughter Rachel (Dave) Early, son Christopher Wood, two grandchildren Benedict and Rose. He is also survived by siblings; Michael (Anke) Wood, George Wood, Margaret (Paul) Ellerton, Catherine (Derrick) Ramshaw, Shirley (Martin) Garfitt, Alison (Pete) Watson, Louise (Roger) Bamford, Elaine (Pete) Walls, Helen Wood and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Per Stan’s wishes cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Stan’s life will be held on July 29, 2017 from 5 PM - 8 PM at the Lyndon Elks Lodge 2052 (904 Ormsby Lane, Louisville, KY 40242).
