1943 - 2017

Larry Matthew Hoehler, age 74, of Louisville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, April 24, 2017. He loved fishing, golfing, gardening and horse racing. Larry graduated from Trinity High School in 1961, and in his work life he was a Master Plumber and co-owner of Hoehler Mechanical Contracting. His experience included Vice President of Tennessee Pipe and Supply and building factories in Nigeria, Africa. Larry was an active member of AA for over 20 years. He was active in local chapters of Token Club and Icehouse. He passed away in sobriety. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew Daniel and Ann Frances Book Hoehler; and many other family members from Starlight, Indiana.

Larry is survived by his loving children, Lawrence Matthew Hoehler, Jr. and Shari Lynn Hoehler Shephard (Craig); grandchildren, Ryan N. Shephard and Olivia Clair Shephard; siblings, Raymond J. Hoehler (June), Martin D. Hoehler (Gemma), Doris Monnin (Ray), Carol Bradley (Steve) and JoAnn Ray (J. Michael “Mike”)’ and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass of Celebration will be 9:30am on Monday, May 1, 2017 at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, 1104 S. Sixth Street, Louisville, KY. 40203. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery at 11:15am.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
