Norma Jane (Long) Timberlake, 84, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on August 26, 1932, in Edwardsville, Indiana, to Ershel and Mable (Kitterman) Long. Norma was a faithful member at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Lanesville, Indiana, and retired from the Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana, after many years of service. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano at church, sewing, crocheting, writing poetry, and gardening and loved spending time with her family.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Timberlake; and her sons, Michael J. and Glen R. Timberlake. Norma is survived by her loving daughter, Nettie Smith (John); her siblings; Julia Mayfield (Lawrence), Wilma Polen, Louis Long (Helen), and Wayne Long; along with 5 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church located at 3465 IN-11, Lanesville, Indiana 47136.
