1928 - 2017

Richard L. Elmore, 88, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 13, 1928 to the late Ezra and Sina Elmore. He served both the United States Army and Navy. He was retired from Tube Turns and was a member of Bee Springs Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Ocia Mae Elmore; two sons, Richard "Buddy" Elmore and Ronald Lee Elmore; a daughter, Pamela LaVonne Elmore; siblings, Donald Elmore, Earl Elmore, Jessie Eugene Elmore, Dorothy Adamson, Lois McGrew, Jeanette Wortham, Marie Elmore; a son-In-law, Johnny Allen; and a great-grandson, Dalton Callison.

Richard is survived by his beloved children, Debbie (Michael) Watts, Teresa Allen, Vivian (Michael) Crank and Kim (Les) McCandless; grandchildren, Diane Cardin, Tenah Callison, Mick Watts, Jason Allen, Matthew Allen, Andrea Crank, Angela Owen, Anthony Crank, Josh Elmore, Joey Elmore, Danny Mitsch and Eric McCandless; great-grandchildren, Gavin Cardin, Grace Cardin, Austin Cardin, Jaren Callison, Megan Watts, Garrett Watts, Aiden Allen, Brady Allen, Jalyn Allen, Madison Eskridge, Caleb Elmore, Jake Mitsch and Parker McCandless; and a host of other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate his life will be conducted Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway with burial to follow in Bee Springs Cemetery in Edmonson County, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
