James "Jim" Gleason Sr.,72, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on January 13, 2017.

He attended Most Blessed Sacrament for several years. Jim was a retired teacher for the Archdiocese of Louisville, teaching at Guardian Angels, St. Denis and St. Margaret Mary.

At a young age, Jim contracted Polio, yet he lived everyday with a positive mind and soul. His strong will carried him through the challenges and he taught many in more ways than one.

Jim was born on January 13, 1945, in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Basil and Hazel Gleason. He is also preceded in death by his two siblings, Kate and John Gleason.

He is survived by his children, James Gleason, Jr. (Danielle), Angela Gleason, Jonathan Gleason (Seana Graves) and Gloria Britt (Ted); siblings, Patrick Gleason (Lee), Ann Carson, Mary Giannattasio (John); grandchildren, Michael Britt, Alex Britt, Adam Britt, Kacei Gleason, Aidan Gleason, Gavin Gleason and Ava Gleason; and a host of other loved ones.

Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243), with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
