David Jean Heavrin, Sr.
1935 - 2017

David Jean Heavrin, Sr., 82, passed away on January 14, 2017. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a graduate of Male High School and UofL Speed School. David retired from GE and his interests included rehabbing houses and gardening. He never met a stranger and was always there for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence "Sonny" Heavrin and Timothy Heavrin; sisters, Dorothy Robison and James Arlette "Sibi" Sorey.

David was survived by his wife, Janice Grady-Heavrin; son, Chris (Gail) Heavrin; sister, Martha "Mots" Heavrin; step-daughter, Lee Ann Jones and her daughter, Jessica Jones and great-granddaughter, Abigail Grant and many other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved cats, Max, Magic and Thai.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 3pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY. A celebration of David's life will be Friday, January 20, 2017, beginning at 11am at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home.

Entombment will be at Resthaven Cemetery, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society, 1640 Lyndon Farm Ct #104, Louisville, KY 40223.
