Shirley Ann (Jordan) Edlin Nunley, 72 of New Albany, Indiana passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on Friday, January 13, 2017. She was a kind, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Shirley was very active in her church, Victory Lighthouse. She was a talented baker and cake decorator.

She was born on February 6, 1944 in New Albany to the late Everett and Louise (Murphy) Jordan. Shirley was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Jordan.

Shirley is survived by her children, Gerald “Jerry” Edlin, Robert “Bobby” Edlin (Billie Jo), Patricia “Patty” Edlin Lewis, Kevin Edlin (Kimberly), Carrie Edlin Carter (Louie), 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, William “Billy” Jordan (Joyce), Everett “Paul” Jordan (Shelia); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and after 11 AM on Friday. Her Funeral Service will take place at 1 PM on Friday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Shirley’s caregiver over the last 3 months and best friend, Shelia Jordan. She was able to fill her last days with love, laughter and fun.
