Joseph Bernard "Joe" Eaton, Sr.
1927 - 2017

Joseph Bernard "Joe" Eaton, Sr., 89, passed away on January 11, 2017. He retired from Uof L as a photolithographer; retired from LMPD as a traffic officer and he had a Master's of Science in social work. Joe was a member of the Kosair Shrine, Past Master of the Boaz Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite, Aahmed Grotto, High Twelve Club and Hillbillys. He graduated from Manual High School, class of 44 1/2 was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church. Joe was a competition ballroom dancer, who enjoyed listening to Big Band Music, was a light weight boxer and his greatest accomplishment was his family. He is now with the love of his life, his wife, Catherine Ann.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Ann Moon Eaton; sons, Joseph Bernard Eaton, II, Robert Steven Eaton and Mark Leslie Eaton.

Joe is survived by his children, Allan Lee (Sherri) Eaton, David Neal (Cheryl) Eaton, Paul Mathias (Denise) Eaton, Catherine Eaton (Larry) Pardue and Barbara JoAnn (Jamie) Barnett; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) from 3pm-8pm. A celebration of Joe's life will be Wednesday, January 18, 2017, beginning at 11am at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home.
