Marlene R. Cornett, 54, passed away peacefully at Baptist East Hospital under Hospice care on December 5, 2016.

Marlene was born on January 17, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William I. Cornett, Sr. and Sarah Mattingly Cornett. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Patricia, Sarah and Robert.

She is survived by her brothers, William I. Cornett, Jr. (Rose), Michael Cornett (Bobbie); sisters, Mary Dexter (Bruce), Catherine Garmon (Rick), and her identical twin sister, Charlene Orr; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, especially nieces, Jessica and Danielle.

Marlene graduated from St. Denis grade school and then Butler High School in 1981. She enjoyed work in retail, including years for Walmart and Walgreens. She liked volunteering for charity, especially Crusade for Children. She was kind and considerate to all. She has special affection for her pet dog, Valo.
