Leah Ray H. Janes
1935 - 2016

Leah Ray Hanna Janes, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Monday, July 18, 2016 at her patio home in Middletown, KY. She loved her home, family and friends. Leah loved to spend time cooking for everyone on birthdays and holidays. She enjoyed the arts and her working days at Frame House Gallery. Leah loved spending time with her girlfriends, attending plays at Derby Dinner Playhouse, and lunch dates with the 49ers, a grade school group. She was always smiling with a gregarious laugh. Our caring, loving, and giving mother and grandmother will be greatly missed. As a baptized cradle Catholic she was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Virginia Whalen, her father, William David Hanna, and her husband of over 50 years, William Lee Janes.

Leah is survived by her children, Lea Ann Luce (Richard), Cheryl Cupp (Gregory), William Mark Janes (Rose); grandchildren, Juliana Labarbara (Tony), Brittney Donohue (Lee), Jennifer Luce, Joseph Luce, and Eric Scott; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, July 22, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Louisville East Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). Her Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 10:00 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church (212 Mount Mercy Dr, Pewee Valley, KY 40056) with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park (4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218).
